Tonight’s film comes from Mexico!

Roma (2018)

Whether you’re learning Spanish or just looking for something to watch, Roma is an interesting film.

Set in Mexico City, Roma tells the story of a housemaid, Cleo, working for a middle class family. The film follows Cleo’s life over the course of ten months, between 1970 and 1971. It’s directed by Alfonso Cuarón, who’s said much of the film is inspired by his memories of growing up in the Colonia Roma neighbourhood of Mexico City.

Most of the film is in Spanish, but you’ll also hear the indigenous Mixtec language.
